Past meets future in the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago’s (MSI) 2012 Smart Home: Green + Wired exhibit.  Museum guests can tour a real, functioning three-story, modular and sustainable “green” home—built right in the Museum’s backyard—that also highlights unique eco-friendly technologies for the 21st century.

The Museum welcomes back furnishing store Scout and its owner Larry Vodak, to create a whole new look in 2012’s exhibit home, which features unique pieces that have been repurposed in amazing ways.  These items from the past are complimented by technologies from the future and high-tech gadgets courtesy of technology partner, Gizmodo.

Smart Home: Green + Wired is a must-see exhibit for anyone who wants their home, and life, to be smarter, more efficient and more in tune with the environment than it is today. The exhibit runs through Jan. 6, 2013. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit msichicago.org. Smart Home: Green + Wired is proudly sponsored by ComEd and Allstate Insurance Company.
